Mediation is a process in which parties involved in a legal matter attend in order to attempt to reach a resolution. Mediation involves each party being in a room with their own attorney and a mediator who goes between the parties until either an agreement is reached or the parties decide they cannot reach an agreement.
Mediation is an important, and sometimes required, part of litigation. It is important to have an experienced and dedicated mediator who is invested in you obtaining the best possible outcome in your case. Rule 31 Listed Family Mediators have completed intensive training on how to guide parties through the process of reaching an agreement. Upon completing training, Mediators must apply and be approved to be listed by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
